About Jill Stewart >
Jill joined Lloyd Phillips & Associates Ltd. as a land use planner in 2012 and has been providing valuable support to clients on a variety of urban and rural land development projects. Jill is experienced with the development approval process and has been responsible for applications involving Zoning By-law Amendments, Site Plan Control Approval, Plans of Subdivision, Minor Variances, and Consents. She has successfully represented various files at several municipal bodies including Planning Committee and Committee of Adjustment and she has taken a major role in preparing for Ontario Municipal Board hearings.
Jill’s array of experience provides her with an in-depth understanding of planning policy and land development analysis. She is able to evaluate the feasibility of each project and provide sound strategic planning advice. Jill has played a pivotal role in the concept and design phases of various developments. This key function is complimented by her strong technical abilities including Illustrator and SketchUp Pro. She is highly organized and skilled at report writing and she has prepared several Planning Rationale reports on a wide range of development proposals in urban and rural Ottawa, as well as in Winchester, Ontario.
Before moving to Ottawa, Jill worked as a junior urban planner at the Revitalization Centre of Saint-Pierre, a non-profit organization in Montreal. In this role she successfully coordinated the visioning efforts of the community and other key stakeholders to create short and long-term sustainable community development projects. Jill was able to foster these partnerships to create a strategic revitalization action plan for the district.
Jill studied urban planning at Concordia University in Montreal and new media design at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in Vancouver. She is passionate about planning, designing and building desirable and sustainable communities. This enthusiasm, combined with her knowledge and professionalism, is portrayed in all aspects of Jill’s work.
