About Jessica >
Jessica joined Lloyd Phillips & Associates Ltd. as a planner in early 2018 after transitioning from the federal public sector in Ottawa. Jessica graduated from Queen’s University with a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning in 2016. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree with a specialization in Communication and a Minor in Law from the University of Ottawa. Jessica is a Registered Professional Planner and a Full Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners.
During her time at Queen’s University, Jessica completed an internship with the Development Review, Urban Services Department of the City of Ottawa. Prior to her studies, Jessica worked in internship roles in the Lanark County area in both the public and private sectors, where she became well acquainted with rural and municipal planning and development, and participated in all aspects of the planning process.
Jessica has worked in Ottawa since 2016, beginning at the National Capital Commission as a land use planner. As a planner in the federal development approvals division, she has participated in the iterative review and approval of development proposals impacting federal lands in the National Capital Region. In this role, she developed excellent experience in project management, policy analysis, and report writing and is well-versed in working with clients to achieve mutually beneficial results with a high quality of design.
Jessica is experienced with the development approvals process within the City of Ottawa and surrounding municipalities and is well-versed in the real estate and development industry. Since joining LPA, she has assisted clients with a wide variety of projects, including Committee of Adjustment applications, Site Plan Control applications, and Zoning By-law amendments. Jessica continues to apply her varied skillset from a background in the municipal, federal and private sectors to bring a balanced perspective to all aspects of her work at LPA. Her critical thinking and detailed-oriented approach to planning and project management, as well as her passion for people and client-satisfaction make Jessica an asset to the team.
